No Child Left Behind (NCLB) is a federally mandated program that requires all public schools, school districts, and states to demonstrate “adequate yearly progress” (AYP) on the state tests and other indicators. Other things have to be reported are not required standards for progress. The first year of data was reported for NCLB was in 2003.
